Knowing the Cause is Good

I’ve never been so happy to have an ear infection.

I thought it was allergies, which meant I couldn’t do much about it, and being outside probably was a bad idea. But it wasn’t getting better, and it hurt at times, so I went to the doctor yesterday and found out I have an ear infection. This is good. Since it means it will get better with medication.

In spring, my ears were bothering me, and when I went to the doctor’s office, I found out it was allergy-related. Two weeks of an over-the-counter antihistamine as well as my normal allergy medication, and my ears got better. So, when it happened again a few weeks ago, I started taking an antihistamine. It didn’t get better. I thought that the first week of antihistamine tablets might have been old, but after ten days on stuff I bought this year, I finally saw the doctor.

And I have an ear infection. It may take a few days, but it will get better. And I don’t have to worry that being outside in our gorgeous weather is making it worse. It’s not allergies, it’s an infection. Yay!
